.Vintage Tin Noise-Makers.

I search through eBay a lot just to drool at all the old vintage Halloween items that are for sale. Of course the most drool-worthy items are the ones that go for prices that make you wonder if this whole recession thing ever really existed. LOL Obviously not for some people.

Anyways, on a recent search I watched this lot of five vintage tin noisemakers go for about $215. The listing said that three of the clickers were marked "Germany" and that the other two were un-marked but frequently seen in US manufacturing graphics. They claimed (and I am sure were correct due to the high price they eventually sold at) that they were from the 1930s.

Apparently a rare find, so I wanted to share the photo here. Halloween noise-makers seem to have been extremely popular around the 1920s-1950s as party favors and general mischeif making toys.

Here's wishing you merry noise-making =)

.Halloween Is Grinch Night.

Grinch Night Original 1977 ad

Since this is a tad bit before my time, rarely shown and hard-to-find, I was unaware of it's existence until I saw a VHS copy of this listed on eBay. Of course I had to quickly investigate and bring it to my readers!

.Info.
The Grinch stalks Whoville on Halloween night, along with his trusty sidekick Max, with intentions of spoiling the town festivities. But little Ukariah Who doesn't intend to let his plans come to fruition. This Halloween follow-up to "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" plays out more like a prequel since the Grinch still revels in his evil doing. It premiered on ABC Network on the evening of October 29, 1977. It won the 1977 Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program.

.1957 McCalls Costume Pattern.

This is another eBay find, an auction thats been closed since I found it. I thought it was cute and decided to share it with ya'll. Its a 1957 McCall's costume pattern #2148. It makes either a witch, bride, angel or fairy and it's for girls sized 6-8. The artwork on the package is what drew me about this vintage Halloween product. It's very interesting to me to see how they interpret costumes from decade to decade.

.Vintage Me This/Vintage Me That.

On my visits to eBay, I run across tons of amazing vintage Halloween collectibles. It's rare that I can afford any of these amazing finds but I'd like to share them with you this way at least. This is from an auction that closed last night. It is a "Gottschalk, Dreyfuss & Davis, London, Munich, New-York, Series No. 2696" vintage Halloween postcard that was produced in Germany. The back of the card is postmarked 1913 and the sender also wrote "October 31st 1913".
